May 18th, 2008: Some news about the RAAM

I am a bit behind with the english version of this website, for what I apologize, but from now on I will try to keep you up to date with any news about RAAM. The race is only 20 days away and everything is almost ready to go on board straight to the United States. l am looking forward to it!!

We are following the news posted about the RAAM in www.raceacrossamerica.org and we are translating them into spanish so that everybody in Spain is fully abreast of events.

Shortly, I will open some links with photos, videos, race and race reports about the race where everybody will be able to see how it is going on!

Challenge:
This is a "solo race" against the clock which consists in riding non-stop 745 kms. between Roncesvalles and Santiago de Compostela (through the Camino Frances) in 24 hours. As it is a "solo race" it is considered to be No-Drafting.

Plan Tour and Soria Natural are the two new sponsors that will help me to face the Race Across America. Plan Tour is the Travel Agency in charge of the flights for my crew and me.

March 12th, 2008

I feel lucky to count on the invaluable help of the Basque Cycling Federation. They will provide me with 5 officials, suitable qualified by the UMCA (UltraMarathon Cycling Association), so that the 24 Hours Record Attempt can be certified.

March, 10th, 2008 SANTIAGO’S WAY IN 24 HOURS Challenge
Everything is ready for the “Santiago’s Way challenge” in 24 hours.
In 2007, I managed to finish the route in 28 hours and 1 minute so this year, weather permitting, ill try to break that record.
My crew, made up of 9 people and me, will leave Roncesvalles on April, 5th at 10:00 in the morning. See (route) for details about some specific places and estimate times of arrival.
As it happened in 2007, it will be possible to follow the progress of the race every minute thanks to the
